Steve Konos Gone From CC-NO... Interesting.

According to All-Access, WRNO weekend guy Steve Konos has been released from Clear Channel New Orleans.

This came quite interesting to me, as I happened to be listening to him doing overnights with Ya' Pal Al on the URBNO dealie a couple of weeks ago. He proceeded to make some very scathing comments to a caller who legitimately needed help, but which he accused of trying to get a free ride from the government.

Well, the next night, he was replaced by Bruce Alan from WNOE, and they were constantly making apologies for Konos' comments.

So, is this why the insensitive bastard Konos was released?<P ID="signature">______________

I think I heard that; I think the caller had gotten FEMA money, but needed more. Konos told him to get over it! It was quite awkward; Al was apologizing as soon as Steve said it.

I'm surprised it didn't happen earlier. Most DJs aren't exactly known for being tactful! I don't know how they keep their cool with people calling in 24 hours a day with the same problems.
