It's sad that in over 2 months no one has responded to this thread, so I will.

It was pancreatic cancer. Steve was a truly nice guy and I will miss him. At least for the time that I knew him he seemed to fly under the radar when it came to the ego wars and back-stabbing that can happen in the radio biz.

Thanks Danny. I don't know why the hush hush either. I wasn't being nosey. Just asking. Cancer sucks. Again, my condolences.
