steve morterano(sp?)

So who was this Steve Morterano(sp?) guy on 101.5 this morning? Caught me by surprise since Jim's time off wasn't listed on the inside 101.5 page... listening to this guy was like listening to bad stand up comedy. It was cheesy joke after cheesy joke with Bob Williams(?) laughing over and over in the background.

This guy is awful! NJ101.5 would have been better doing a best of show, or even playing music than having this lame attempt of a talk show. Better yet, they should have had Dennis come in, or Tommy G.

As far as the laughing, I think its the board op. Bob is on vacation this week.

> I work nights and I did catch the first hour when I was driving home from work and I agree it was painful to listen to. Steve sounds older and less hipper than Gearhart if that's possible. His topic was lame. What did you do this weekend ? Duh didn't really do much research on this one that's why he got very few calls, again it was painful. When I was driving into work last night Tommy G was discussing a patrotic theme, the vote by NJ reps on a measure to make it a federal crime to burn the flag. Perfect topic it generating tons of calls. Tommy G said 11 were for it and 2 were against it Holt and Payne. This guy does his homework and it does make a difference.

As for your suggestion of using Dennis or Tommy G in the mornings. I would keep Dennis and Judy together their show suffers when they are apart and it's great when they are together.
Tommy G may be to upbeat for mornings on this station. I liked when Ray filled in mornings and I also liked when Tommy G was in with The Jersey Guys before they went on vacation. I would put Ray on to fill in for Jim and have Tommy G hang out with Craig. People like to hear familiar voices and the regulars don't make mistakes like Steve did this morning by not saying point 5 when he first came on. Steve sounded old and blah.

I almost turned it off when he was waiting for someone to call back to talk about proposing to his girlfriend but I waited til he started talking about movies set in Jersey...

Your tolerence for pain is higher than mine. I did change the station after Steve lost that call and started whining about it. What a shame because I listen to that station all the time and it gave me the opportunity to sample. If I find something better Gearhart will lose me as a listener and it won't be his fault.

Steve worked at WIP in Philly and had the top rated mid day show with Anthony Gargano. Steve has been in the biz for years working in Boston, WMMR and out in California. I worked with him for a few years he is a great guy and I wish him nothing but the best.

I am sure Steve is a good guy but some people need a co host to carry them. Maybe he sounds better with Anthony Gargano like Dennis sounds better with Judi. He just didn't captivate when he was alone but I wish him well I just won't be listening.

I agree with everyone. This guy puts me back to sleep. He's got no inflection in his voice at all. It's the same monotone voice from 6-10am. Another thing that really puts me over the edge is the dead air he leaves. He says a thought or whatever and it's like he leaves people to ponder every word as he takes such long pauses.

At least Jim gets into things...does some fun stuff sometimes....rails on 'ol LLD!

Steve strikes me as a guy who feels everyone should like him. Sometimes he seemed so neauseatingly nice it was pathetic.
______________

I agree and he sounds ancient. He was great in the day. Jim may up in years but comes across with pertinent thoughts of the day. Maybe "Hurricane" Dennis can give him some pointers.
______________

I heard him and not even Dennis can help Steve who I thought was as dry as toast without the jelly. He did sound very very old. I was glad when Jim came back.
