For those who don't know about him, he was the president and co-founder of NFL Films, alongside his father, Ed. This morning, he lost his battle with brain cancer, just about two weeks shy of what would have been his 70th birthday. His father was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame last year, and Steve was his presenter.
For many (me included), the Sabols' vision and style of filming NFL games practically made the league what it is today. Steve also hosted much of NFL Films' TV shows and specials throughout the years, appearing on ESPN and NFL Network.
