Steve Sherrick

I hope I got Steve's last name spelled right. If anybody wants to hear what Chicago radio sounded like back in the early 70's, then listen to Steve Sherrick on 94.1 The Sound. That man is absolutely terrific on the air. Too bad he's in such a restricted format. I don't know if he's tracked or live, either way he shines. That boy belongs in Chicago!

Steve Sherrick did a terrific job for a number of years filling in for Jo Ann Downs on our show....was Prod Dir of Cox at the time. Always a pro...funny guy...love him dearly. GENUINE. Bob O., if you don't know him...you'd love him. Old school attitude tho not nearly as aged (I don't think!) as we...

Coop-
The famous black baseball star Satchel Page did not know when he was born. There were no records of live birth in the racist America Satchel grew up in. Later in his career, when Satchel broke the color line in major league baseball, he was asked by a sports writer how old he was. Now the sportswriter knew that Mr. page didn't know his birthdate. Since they could no longer keep him from playing in the majors because of his color they made his age an issue. Anybody who knows anything about baseball knows that Satchel Page was in his 40's when he finally got the opportunity to play integrated ball. Satchel's reply? "If you didn't know how old you were, how old would you be?" Satchel thought young, played young and lived young. Steve is actually in his early 70's but you would never know it by his air sound. Hope all is well.

I've heard a lot about Mr. Paige....incredible athlete...even more incredible man. As for Sherrick's age...I think upper 60s is closer (We need to get him signed up on this...he needs to defend himself!)

Bob, as my 88 year old Mom would say...you have more scata than a Christmas turkey! Never quite understood that, but it always sounded funny. If you need help with translating scata be happy to help via private e/m!! ::)

Hey Coop-
I just knew I misspelled Satchel's last name. It's Paige not Page. Thanks for your kind correction. As far as 'scata'....scat is what a bear leaves in the woods. By the way, how are things at the assisted living center?

Things at the Center going well...I'm leading the singing on the shuttle bus this week.

May have a serious announcement about my own career in a few days...I think it's very positive. The deal will be all done as soon as Anne Hathaway and I agree on a few things. She's busy ridding herself of that loser who scammed people by pretending to be hooked up to the Vatican.

I think I may have just put two and two together... I wonder if this announcement has anything to do with the discussion that's been going on in another thread here?

"O," I guess only time will tell.

(I hope I'm right; it would sure be great to hear you back doing country!)

Bob Cooper returns to KVOO to take on his old station KWEN. From what I understand, he had great numbers. Bob, Gene and Sunny?

I would love to hear Coop back on the air doin' the KVOO morning drive. Bob would put together a helluva show. I know could do a great job!

O'Shea

WOW! Come up here tonite to read all this stuff about me...wasn't going to do a thing...wait and see how much more wild stuff emerged! No, it's not KVOO. Might as well stop the speculation now! That I said "positive move for my career" doesn't necessarily mean RADIO or TULSA. Or have I just set off more imaginations? Fine if I do! I appreciate the attention!!
