Steve Somers to leave WFAN

Keith McPherson will do the night shows for WFAN. He takes over the night show from Steve Somers.

Audacy has announced new weekday nightly programming for WFAN 101.9 FM / 660 AM (WFAN-FM/AM) in New York. Keith McPherson will join the station and be heard from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. ET, effective November 22. Sal Licata, who has been on air in a part-time role since 2018, will now host from 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. ET, effective November 15.

“Keith and Sal will form a dynamic evening one-two punch, as both have the passion and drive to usher in an exciting new era on The Fan,” said Chris Oliviero, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Audacy New York. “These hours became a must listen for decades with the iconic Steve Somers behind the microphone, and that will continue as Keith and Sal entertain the tristate area nightly be it on the road or even at home under the covers.”

Slight adjustment announced by Carton but not in the press release:
the sports betting program hosted by Andrew Fillipponi (of Pittsburgh's 93.7 The Fan) that has been airing in the 7-7:30 PM slot
will move to 6:30-7 PM beginning Mon. 11/22/2021. Carton + Roberts will air from 2-6:30 PM.

While this is being written as "Keith replaces Steve", it's not technically true.
Keith is really a permanent replacement for John Jastremski who held down 7-11 PM until April 2021 (he departed for Bill Simmons "The Ringer" podcast network).

Sal Licata had earlier replaced JJ on overnights when JJ moved to the evening position.
In essence, the late night (11 PM - 2 AM) shift has been eliminated.
Will have to wait until there's a stretch of evening game broadcasts to see how things shake out -
i.e. does Keith maybe get an extra hour until 1 AM after Yankees games / late evening Nets games?
or is Midnight a "hard out" time?
