B98.5 is playing promos for its Christmas music done by Steve & Vikki, and I must say they are perfect for B98.5 and help make the station sound great right now.
 
it drives me nuts thought to hear either one of them come on after a song and say,"B98.5 FM, you home for the Holidays for over 50 years (that's a lie, I think Peach was first), and your new home of Steve & Vickie in the morning", like they're just reading off cards that the other jocks read off and talking in the 3rd person. Oh well, just listening for the Christmas tunes anyway, then I'm gone.
Vickie quickies....give me a break.

I don;t think the Home for the Holidays for 50 year is a lie. It doesn;t say they were first and even if it did would they be incorrect considering no one else could make a legitimate claim with the PEach no longer in existence?

As far as Vicki's Quickies. I agree who would want a quickie with Vicki. Yuck.

They could mean that they have been on the air for 50 years. They first went on the air in 1948 and have been continuously on the air since the 1950s, so that makes sense.

"Home For The Holidays" doesn't necessarily mean that they actually played holiday music at all, let alone 24/7, during that time. Although I am sure they played their share of it back in their Beautiful Music days, competing with the likes of Peach 95, WLTA 100, Klass 96, WGKA FM 93 (classical), WBIE 101.5 (country), and whoever else on the FM dial that was playing something other than top 40 (94Q, and later Z-93) or AOR (WPLO-FM 103, and later 96Rock) at the time. So B98.5 WSB FM 98 wasn't just affecting the future Q100, they were also affecting the future Bull, Project, Dave, and Kicks as well.

It can't be any looser than the River still being branded as "NEW" after, what, 4-5 years or B98.5 being "#1 for listening at work".
