Another gut punch today with the somewhat unexpected loss of Steve West.

He was a heavy-hitter at KTAC and KJRB, joining the mother ship in Seattle and leading KJR through some of its best years in the early/mid 1970's. Moved to station management with sister station KISW, then took on even more pioneering work launching 850 as a South Sound news source, then guiding 96.5 under the Disney ownership to become one of the most respected rock stations in the market history.

Nice guy with a nice family. I'd suggest friends were important too, but I already mentioned "family".
