Steven Blood's 2013 Scam (so far)

Well, it looks like he's given up on being a phony radio guy (see discussion regarding demise of WSBX) and doing webcasts as either Ken Tiki or Bo Miller. Or Woody Nelson, since that was the alias he was using when he got caught ripping off tornado victims' charities in 2011.
Fast forward....Feb 2013:
http://breakingobama.blogspot.com/2013/02/breaking-obama-expanding-mission-you.html?spref=fb

Now's he peddling ID cards and bumper stickers that blame Obama for nearly everything wrong in the USA. Including how WSBX failed (well, he'll probably give it a try!) Naturally, this being the USA a lot of wackos actually visit this loser's phony websites and will pony up the money for these childish items. Once again he's using the Internet to fool folks out of their money.
Can't wait for the launch of this "national magazine" he's describing. The way Mr. Blood operates means that he'll tire of this "national magazine" charade in about 2-weeks. Anyone remember WSBX's "active talk"? Loved that one....
Anyone want to venture a guess how much the NRA has seen from the sale of these trinkets? After Steven takes his cut of about $7 or $8, I'm guessing the NRA will see exactly what the victims in Alabama and Missouri saw: zilch, nada, goose egg.
And the state of Missouri is still waiting for him to pay his fines. What an American, eh? Geez, where's Doreen when she should be home disciplining her sonny boy....

Crap! His website just proves that you don't HAVE to have a shortwave transmitter to ................................................. . ::)

More fun stuff:

ATTENTION PATRIOTS! One of our U-Stream Channels was Hacked by David G Mills of Inverness Florida with the help of his partner in crime Jason Asselin of East Kingsford Michigan and we are working to get these guys banned from social media completely but we need your help. Please go and report this channel by hitting the flag button below the screen. They have 2 followers which is them. The description info is a total fabricated lie and attempt to extort money from our organization. Both of them are under orders to cease and desist which they have obviously ignored. Thank you for your help in this matter.

I noticed that Jason Asselin took down his Blogspot site exposing Blood's misdeeds. "Too many problems," he said.

I guess they can be expecting a letter any day now from the FCC cancelling WSBX's license since it went dark Feb 25th of last year.

WSBX: The station which cannot die.

That sounds like an intriguing and interesting concept. Perhaps Woody should become a radio consultant and show other station owners how they, too, can have a "Zombie Radio" station.

Mark,

Easy. File a bunch of STAs, stay silent through all of them regardless of what the FCC database says,
and keep your station licensed since the FCC hasn't bothered to inspect this remnant of a radio station. It has been off the air for years.

How has there not been any sort of sanction against the licensee in all of this time? Is there not some point certain where all of the filings with the Commission go from being erroneous to being willfully false? I accuse no one of anything.... I did not realize that the FCC could be so ... patient, that is all.

It has been my experience that the FCC rarely ever inspects a station unless the Commission receives a complaint. Keeping this in mind, the FCC is going on "good faith" that all documentation filed with it is in compliance with current FCC rules and is factual. I'm not accusing anyone or anything, either, nor am I pointing a finger at any particular station. I am speaking in general terms now.

The FCC will "love" that...

Witchlover,

In the database, from 1983 to around 2008, the station was owned by Lifeline Communications.
Jimmy Keyton was president of Lifeline. The station was WJEP under Lifeline.

After Jimmy passed away in 2007, Lifeline sort of lost interest in operating the station. The Harris MW-10A was on its last legs, and after a lightning strike did more damage, they decided it was easier to
sell rather than replace the transmitter and try to keep going.

After 2008, that is when you begin to see STAs, dismissed STAs, and the like.

When Jimmy Keyton was still alive and active in the station, he decided to replace the contemporary Christian music library with Skylight Satellite Network. I went up to the station, got a grand tour, and returned with the WJEP music library, for which I made a contribution to the ministry. Hundreds of albums, in good condition because they had put the music on cart.

I still have that library, plus one from WCVC, plus a country library built from several sources. I plan to program a classic CCM program on Sundays to complement country and classic country during the week, in the future. I currently stream and am filing for an LPFM close to Tallahassee.

One former Lifeline employee lost his job in all the changes, and he lives near me. He has told me more than I ever wanted to know about that situation. If his side of the story is true, and I have no reason to believe it is not, this station has not been on the air with any consistency since the early part of 2009. He believes the power has been off there nearly three years. He ran his weekly program with me for a while before deciding to travel in a full time ministry of his own.

Looking at the satellite view of the transmitter, trees are growing up all over the field. Lots of work to make this a working ground field again.

If I were into doing case studies, this would be an interesting case to study. Alan, that back story is very similar to others I have heard about what happens when the driving force behind a station decides to concentrate on other interests, retires or passes from the scene. In a way it makes me a little sad when this happens, although I know that sometimes, such an outcome is inevitable.

I keep coming back to this thread for the sheer entertainment value of the discussions. Some of the things I have read here regarding a certain "someone" is unreal!

"someone's" history goes way way back. And yes, it is all seemingly unreal.

The unfortunate misunderstandings between this individual and most of the town of Bear Lake (CA, I believe)

The unfortunate misunderstandings between this individual and most of the staff of a MI radio group, when he apparently became the self appointed PD of this group---and flipped formats on several of them---the ownership was as surprised as the staff and listeners, according to reports.

The unfortunate misunderstandings between this individual and the sellers of WJEP.

Numerous other unfortunate misunderstandings, some resulting in legal threats by one state.
