Stick a fork in it-the Houston board is dead

Hello radio friends. Just wanted to drop by and see how dead this place has become since I left. I gave you the clear answer on radio issues and you rejected me. The board got hot at the end of '04 when Hurban was birthed by Clear Channel and people liked to talk about the great new station Mega 101.

It's still great...look at the ratings. KTRH is looking great too. Sunny always shines. While I'm at it, The Buzz is doing very well. There are others to mention but I would run out of space.

But I digress, Mega 101 was the last great radio story of the past year. Everything else has been boring and disappointing.

So I left for many months. Now the board is as exciting as the hallways of Cox Houston (that means it's not very exciting).

You admit the board is bad without me all of the time. Here are the latest posts:

Watch for some great things to happen in the studios of KHMX, KPRC and KKRW. If you want to follow the rise of the underdog, please watch KBME.

The Clear Answer has spoken.

Have you ever talked to a girl without having to give her your credit card number?

Yeah...Why don't you change your name to clearpu--y?

Anybody who posts anything about something "shining" bright in their posts has some issues...

I think he did but she deflated shortly afterward.

Speaking of inflated, hasn't it been nice here not having to try and look around his gigantic inflated head?

Lots of rumors fying around about Mix but what's wrong with KPRC and The Arrow? Only changes that should be made on KPRC is to flip their weekend personalities to the weekdays. More upbeat and energetic talk but still relative conversations.

Dean and Rog going somewhere?

Re: Hey, ClearAnswer...

Did you enjoy your vacation?

I enjoyed it.

Mega a "great" radio story? Maybe a big story. But "great" - the loss of a legacy station? To anybody that doesn't speak Spanish, it was one more great English language station going Spanish language and effectively becoming a blank spot on the dial for all we care. So what if it gets ratings among Spanish speaking listeners? That's good for Clear channel, totally "boring and disappointing" to everybody but Clear Channel and Spanish speaking listeners. They could be playing 24/7 recordings of breaking glass mixed with cats fighting in the ally and fingernails on a chalkboard and it would be less irritating than jabbering in a foreign language and the music they are playing now. I would probably prefer mega to Chinese opera which sounds like shrieking and banging garbage can lids. But that is probably about it.

This board has been dead the last few weeks because many of the people on this board have real jobs and have been dealing with this small problem called Hurricane Katrina.
Quickly becoming the most costly natural disaster in US history, there are a lot of repercussions to New Orleans and even Mississippi radio.
It's been a whirlwind these past few weeks and I'll leave it at that.

Why can't you ever give insightful posts? The board's general complaint, or at least my general complaint, is not that you do or don't work for CC. I could care less who you work for, really.
If you work for CC, fine. This is a radio board. CC is a radio company. Perfectly fine.
The problem is you never offer any information of value. We can look at ratings and see that MEGA was a smart business move for CC, at least so far.

You say that we should watch for developments at KHMX? What the hell does that mean? Elaborate.
People will stop cracking jokes, fuming and snapping back if you offer something of value to this board.

Remember that Michael Gardener comment thread you did? People didn't respond hatefully because you actually posted in stead of just plugging CC stations.

This is not a plugging device for a radio company, it's a radio discussion board.
Praise for good work is fine, just don't do it in every post.

There, but for the grace of God, goes god.

Sunny always shines?

I don't know how. Whats the deal with Sunny? They have been playing Richard Marx' "Right Here Waiting For You" on their playlist for years. If you have ties with that station, tell them to kill that song! Alot of listeners would appreciate that! That is one of the worse songs I've ever heard, even when it was new.

Ok, carry on!
