Stick APD/MD leaving KTFM for WNOU

After after nearly two years at BRODER MEDIA Top 40 KTFM/SAN ANTONIO, APD/MD STICK ON THE RADIO has resigned to join RADIO ONE Top 40 WNOU (RADIO NOW 100.9)/INDIANAPOLIS for afternoon duties.

Article says Nick Russo/Nick @ Night is doing interim MD duties, so to me that suggests they are looking to hire

A format flip is out of the question. KTFM continues to be successful in their target demos.

Btw, he went from market #28 to #40.....hmmm, that's strange.

For all practical purposes, that's lateral movement, though it could be a little bit of a promotion if he got a better timeslot and/or more money at Radio Now.

I've lived in both San Antonio and Indy, and, though I really don't remember much of San Antonio life since I was pretty young, I'd have San Antonio over Indy in a heartbeat. Don't get me wrong, Indy's a decent place, but the weather's terrible, especially at this time of year. It's about 10 degrees cooler in the summer, but it feels just as hot there as it does in San Antonio because of the oppressive humidity, and the winters are absolutely brutal. Get ready for lots of snowstorms, though the lake effect stays a couple hours to the north, and you can expect a devastating ice storm every couple of years that will shut the city down for close to a week. Hope you can survive sub 20 temperatures with no electricity for a week! It also costs a lot more to live in Indy, though I suppose you do have the added benefit of being a daytrip away from Chicago!

It should be less stressful for him in Indy. Radio One has three of the top 10 stations there including BOTH of the top CHRs. Imagine SA's Mix and the Beat under the same roof. WNOU is power challenged as a Class A, but it makes the top 10 because it's tower is right in the middle of the metro. None of their signal is wasted on empty farm land.

I just say there's more to this story. It kinda seems like he was unhappy or not getting paid well at BMP. But who knows other than himself.

On the surface, it doesn't make sense.
