Still airing DTV PSAs?

I've seen DTV PSAs running today on two local television stations. They were basically "if you know anyone who is having trouble receiving WXXX, call us at 1-877-239-4568".

Are these airing in lots of markets? I don't see the reasoning at this point ...

About as smart as reporting a power outage on TV or your ISP emailing you about an internet outage while it's out.

Yes, In both the Sacramento and San Francisco markets.

Probably not a bad idea, as we begin the "second phase of the DTV Transition", the "Educate the viewer and troubleshoot their reception problems" part of the effort.

It would be a good idea if all stations in a market ran the same spot, with a common number, so you could (hopefully) see it on whatever station you ARE getting good reception on. Radio spots and newspaper announcements would be good, as well.

Whatever route, though, they should indicate what numbers of channels and program streams a viewer OUGHT to be getting...otherwise, most wouldn't really KNOW if they are having any issues.
