If you're not already in the industry...

Connecticut School of Broadcasting
1-800-TV-RADIO
http://www.800tvradio.com
(or try a college communications course)

To be really honest with you, and give you my personal opinion... in a top market such as this one - I don't think a station would just put someone "on the radio." Most people seem to have started out in different departments and work their way into the control room... It depends on where you plan on going with your career... and how far you'll really push it to go.

Seriously, the best thing to do is to fall on your knees and become an intern. If you don't mind working your ass off for free for 6 months to a year, you might get a board-op job or weekend job, then perhaps a night job...Even in a larger market, persistance, hard work, and a good attitude will get you far...Plus, drop any ego you may have. No matter what job you had or the school you went to, there are thousands of people who are better than you...

Like I said, you probably will not become an afternoon jock in six months... <P ID="signature">______________
