Still more local programming gone from Macon

As of yesterday, Cumulus dropped Bobby Pope's morning and afternoon sportscasts on WMAC AM 940. Pope is synonymous with sports in Macon. He had done these daily sportscasts since the early 90's, and had been involved with the stations continuously since the 60's.

I hate to hear that. You could always count on Bobby to do a great job on covering local sports.
He was already doing that when I came to WMAZ Radio in '65.

Who's next? Krock?

Wasn't Bobby the last on air link to the glory days of WMAZ-AM? You can't tell WMAC apart from thousands of other "local" radio stations. Cumulus has no respect for the rich heritage of that station, nor for that matter any other station they own. 50,000 watts of "real gusto," wasted.
