Still no KXEB

Sad to say but I don't think Air America is going to be a success in Dallas. KXEB hasn't shown in the 12+ for either trend. Don't know about the breakouts but it doesn't look good. Chalk it up to 3 things 1) bad signal 2) piss poor execution on the part of BMP and 3) that 46% from Dallas who voted for Kerry were probably disaffected Republicans.

It's a bummer because we could use a balance to the "Bush can do no wrong" drivel that Ankarlo, Knapp, Davis, et. al. permeate the airwaves with.

KXEB, KSKY and nutty rightwingers (knew that would get your attention) and chicken hawks

Well, and 99 percent of people who could pick up the station probably don't even know it exists.

But check KSKY's numbers, and you may feel better.

All right-wing, chock-full-of-nutty conservative all the time.

.7 12+.

The American people realize Bush can be wrong. Just look at his poll numbers on Iraq and his Social Security proposals.

He's still searching for WMDs that never existed while Iraq becomes another Vietnam.

And like Vietnam, Iraq is a war fought by chicken hawks.

If you have noticed KXEB Air America is starting to slowly but surely advertised and get the word out. They are starting small by having 10 sec. spots during ch.8's afternoon traffic ,but they also have a banner on ch.8's website. I agree the Rush clones and clowns have worn thin with the Bash Hillary topic of the week.

They all suck IMHO. KXEB is like 2 steps away from becoming a mexican rimshot again

A 30 second TV spot also exists...saw it Sunday AM.

KXEB - nutty leftwingers don't own radios (got ya back)

Sorry, just had to put that out there. There are plenty of us who think liberals are nutty extremists who have no concept of reality and love socialism.

But that has little to do with the discussion of why KXEB isn't doing well.

The whole Air America format is marginal at best in markets that should ideologically support it. For example: it's got a 1.3 in New York, 1.1 in San Francisco, and a .6 in Los Angeles.

There's also no way to tell how well AA is doing with XM or Sirius.

I'll be the first to admit that I think it takes time to grow. The problem they're having at Air America is that they are not getting on established radio stations. They're getting a bunch of low wattage AM stations that no one in the market listens to. People have to hunt around and find it. The stations are too poor to advertise the programming yet.

Ultimately, that should improve some. I think it will be enough for AA to survive long term. But I doubt their shows will overtake the popularity of Rush, Hannity, et al. They've got too much ground to make up and they don't appear to have the pros running the operation that they need to make it a real big success.

Actually, conservatives are today's liberals fiscally. Look at the deficit.

Agreed?

In the '30s, conservatives called FDR a socialist. He brought us Social Security.

Would you still call it socialism?

Maybe the signals, like in Dallas, have something to do with that.

That's big of you. Or bigamy as Jody Dean would say.

Perceptive.

Go on.

Well, you should know

I saw the AA 30 second spot on Meet The Press a couple of weeks ago and haven't changed the channel from 910AM since. After being surrounded by the conservative "sheep" for so long and having nothing on talk radio to listen to in DFW other than conservative "sheep herders", I think it's great that a local station is finally allowing the truth about the dubya administration's arrogance and lies to be broadcast to the rest of us that ARE able to think for ourselves (ie. "non-sheep"). But one of my concerns with AA is with the morning show....although Springer makes great points regarding the truth about this administration occupying the white house and occupying Iraq, I don't think Springer brings the credibility necessary of a good morning show. Joe Conason would make a great morning show host at AA....did anyone hear him completely rip Ed Klein to shreds on the Al Franken show last Friday?....it was great!
