Still no word on KLB-CRB switcheroo?

It was speculated here that Nov 15 could be the date country moves to 102.5 and classical to 99.5 since
that's when GM takes over the Nassau station in Philly (WTHK) as part of the trade...No mention on
WKLB (and I presume WCRB) yet, and I think no mention on their sites yet. Some word had gotten out
that the switch would take place (or at least the deal would be finalized) "in November", or "in late fall",
and it was said the papers were to be signed last weekend or something.

Maybe, if the switch were indeed to happen on Nov 15, you'd hear announcements about it a few days
before (like next Monday) alerting listeners (and aircheckers!) when it'll take place. Who knows. Now I'm
assuming Nassau will take over the WCRB studios (Waltham?) and GM, of course, will continue to program WKLB
from Morrissey Blvd., but I guess when the switch takes place, WCRB would switch its microwave connection
(or whatever they have) to send their signal to the 99.5 stick in Andover while GM would switch their
connection to the 102.5 stick (Waltham? Lexington?) As I'm not a broadcast engineer, I have no idea
what they do so this is just a guess.

I do remember the 96.9/99.5 switch but didn't that involve stations under common, not different,
ownership? This'll be a little different.

Will there be a stunt involved? And when exactly will it take place?

102.5 transmits from the FM-128 tower at the Newton/Needham line.

Thanks for info! A few weeks ago a friend of mine was in town from Ohio and I drove him around, talking.
He likes taking pictures of towers, and we went from Rt 9 to 128 south to exit 19...we saw the
"candelabra" and FM-128. We went down Highland Ave. Needham which became Needham Ave in Newton
and I knew of a free parking garage next to the Papa Gino's--I parked on top and he got pictures of
towers--I think there's a TV tower next to where we were (Ch 7? a Ch 7 van was next to it)

That's Channel 7 on that tower off of Needham St. in Newton, actually on a small dead-end built for the tower called, appropriately enough, Tower Road. There is no other (analog) broadcast TV or radio emanating from that tower as far as I know.

The "UHF Candelabra" on top of Cabot St. in Needham, by the Sheraton hotel, has channels 25, 38 and 56.

FM-128, off of Chestnut St. in Newton Upper Falls near the Needham line, has WBUR, WJMN, WBMX, WCRB (soon to be WKLB), and WODS.

The Viacom tower, the farthest west of the four off of Cedar St. in Needham near the Wellesley line, has channels 2, 4, 5, and 44.

The above is including analog TV transmitters only. I haven't kept track of which towers the DTV's transmit from. They're not the same as the analogs in some cases. There are also low-powered analog UHF channels 24 and 40 broadcasting from that area, though I don't know from which towers. Channel 40 repeats channel 68 from Boston, which transmits from the Pru.

Yes--I went to google maps and used the "hybrid" feature (aerial view plus map) and saw "Tower Rd." etc!

Didn't Ch 25 studios used to be on Second St. in Needham not too far off?.. Didn't Jerry Williams used to go there to do his TV show (remember that?)
