I find it interesting that one person, Mark Wienkes opinion, can lower a company's stock. I do not recall that DirecTV and Dish went through so much when they first started and also tried to merge. I bet if CC wanted to purchase one of them, approval would of been make in less than 5 days. I am sure the NAB has a lot to do with preventing the merger. They are really threatened by this merger.
Now as far as Mark Wienkes' opinion, he is somewhat correct. What I think is hurting XM and Sirius growth is that most people listen to them in their vehicle. Once outside the vehicle, what are the chances that person will have a second unit and listening at home or work. I have concern that they did not really expand outside the the vehicle. Equipment that is outside the car has been created proprietary. When you need a home connection, they and nickel and dime for accessories. I really believe this is hurting them by gaining more subscribers.
