Stocks and Jocks on AM 1240

Noted that Stocks and Jocks is now being broadcast on AM 1240 WSBC in the mornings. I imagine it was quite a coup for a Class D local to get a program of that quality. I have to give WSBC the nod, in that they have about the best audio quality of the small ethnic stations, along with remarkably good coverage for a graveyard channel AM. They even have some music and a few other programs that I like to listen to (in English)! I can hear the station quite well in the northern and western burbs. I don't think it does as well to the south and southeast.

Given the proximity of the C and D keys on the keyboard, that could be a typo. It could also be an error. Either way, it's incorrect. WSBC, like all graveyarders, is a Class C. Class C AMs are the former Class IVs. Class D AMs, including those that operate at night with powers of less (often substantially less) than 250W equivalent (RMS inverse-distance field of less than 140.85 mV/m @ 1 km), are the "daytimers." Before the AM classes were renamed, these stations were a mixture of Class II-D and Class III-D AMs.

Mr. Pinski sure can get into his moody ways with his mood swings!
You can tell what kind of mood he's in, just by the type of music he's playing....
