Stop already

I am beginning to get bored with people having conversations with themselves on this board. You must know by now that Jim Gossett AKA Dino Costa are the same person. You must also know that Jeffco and bansplit and Dinosauratlanta are the same person, and that person is Jim Gossett AKA Dino Costa. These conversations that he is having with himself are getting really old. Please stop. We know you love to talk about yourself Jim, but enough is enough.

Hmmm...

Hmmm...

Interesting.

Tell Jim Gossett, Jeffco, Bansplit, and whomever else is involved in this hideous charade to cut it out already.

Where oh where is David Paul when I really need him?

Re: Hmmm...

People on this board are not what they seem??? People cloning themselves to have conversations with themselves?? Three on air personalites from B98.5 on vacation at the same time???

Very strange.....

I think we should contact Mulder, and Scully right away!

Re: Hmmm...

If Mr. Costa gets bored talking to himself on this board..he can always go over to AllAccess.Com and post some of those longwinded help wanted ads...the ones that go on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on forever and ever and ever and ever. Or maybe he could do a really, really, really, really long situations wanted ad....I would love to read one of those....it would probably take days..

Truth be told, I am really Christopher Calandro and AJ Jam. I am not however, CurtisinPA, that's Roddy Freeman.

Lastly, whatever happened to the get togehter that I (AJ Jam) was putting on? I (The Real Other Neil) still wanna piece of FMFreq. That's right, I still ain't scared of you.

It's radio, not brain surgery - Jim deCastro

When in Atlanta, listen to 85 FM DIRK!</P>

BARNEY! Are you really DAVID PAUL...in disguise - again???

Oh come on now Barney...yes, like any other irreverent and multi-talented talk radio aficionado (a very small association BTW), I do get bored enough with myself to actually begin conversations with myself - and I sometimes even dream of being a "jeffco", a "bansplit", and especially, a "Jim Gossett".

You're gonna hold that aginst me?

Nice person you are!

Oh and for my allaccess stuff? Come on now kids, those were some terrific messages that absolutely and positively captivated an entire radio industry for crying out loud! Changed the face of allaccess stuff forever...and you think that Kevin LaRue in Roanoke has anything on me? Ha!

If I ran radio the industry would be packed full of people coming to work each and every day looking to do...dare I say, "MIGHTY" Things???

I'll leave you with one of my radio 101 outstanding messages, you may copy and use as you like, however please do give editorial credit where due.

By the way if Jeffco is out in the audience anywhere, will someone please alert him to the fact that:

A) He needs to stay more up to date on my movements and whereabouts...I was very hurt that he wasn't aware that the Sports Doctor was back in Atlanta this past Monday.

B)Please let him know that the Sports Doctor has been offered and indeed, accepted a position today that will be announced shortly.

But never mind all that...Let us instead remember these days:

Northeast Florida is booming with expansion of all kinds.

A brand new Talk Radio Station is set to become a part of that Northeast Florida boom - as the calendar rolls into another new year.

AM-1530 WYMM "The MIGHTY 1530", is set to embark upon an ambitious course that will significantly alter the landscape of Talk Radio programming here in Jacksonville, Florida USA.

Our transmitter situation has prevented us from moving as swiftly as we had hoped - however that situation has been rectified and we're ready to fire up Fifty Thousand watts of compelling talk radio programming for the First Coast region...and beyond.

This is your opportunity to make 2005 a memorable and exciting year with a radio station that doesn't subscribe to the status quo manual of modern day radio 101.

We've burned that book.

Instead we're developing a radio entity that is constantly thinking outside the box, with creative and risk taking maneuvers that will allow us to take advantage of the opportunities that are out there waiting to be harvested.

No station in the Jacksonville market has made more of a commitment to locally based talk radio programming than us - it's not even close.

You'll be pitching a radio station with a program lineup full of locally based personalities - as well as an appreciable compliment of syndicated properties.

A station with a full menu of news, traffic, weather, and of course, dynamic talk programs - that will create the uniquely distinctive sound we're committed to projecting.

If you relish a pure challenge then this opportunity is for you.

Make no mistake, we're the underdog...and we love it.

You need to love it as well in order to fit within the spirit of our philosophy and daily game planning objectives.

We're a privately run organization with absolutely no red tape (but plenty of dis-honest people as it turned out!!!), no multiple channels of authority, and no bean counters back at a corporate office dictating the ebb and flow.

This is a massive opportunity with unlimited potential and earning power - and the epitome of a low risk high reward scenario.

This position will provide you with more bottom line revenue, than any radio sales related position in the Jacksonville market.

The commission on sales will easily surpass all other stations in Jacksonville.

Believe it.

We're looking for an "earner" - an individual with an entrepreneurial mindset, who is a self-driven, competitively enthusiastic, a gorilla oriented warrior - who detests the thought of finishing second.

PAUSE HERE FOR A SECOND: In re-reading this stuff for the first time months later, it is so darn good, that I find myself actually wanting to call myself to snag this position!

And now we continue...

We're looking for a leader.

We're looking for a personality driven individual who possesses all of the natural sales techniques one should be prepared to have in their bag in order to tackle this role effectively.

If you're networked within the community we want to talk with you.

If you have solidified marketing sponsorships that you could bring with you, we'd like to converse.

Talk radio is the clear cut champion - and the undisputed vehicle of choice for business owners seeking immediate and personalized messages in which to reach their customer base.

An understanding of the craft itself - and the ability to effectively translate the massive potential of talk radio as that winning vehicle that will produce the best results for the advertiser, is essential.

For more information and further specifics please call us at once to set up a time where we may sit down and talk.

We guarantee complete confidentiality regarding your inquiry.

No specific parameters will be divulged over the telephone.

Only serious parties are encouraged to call and show potential interest in this role.

This is not a relocation type position, we're only interested in speaking to Northeast Florida individuals, thank you.

PHONE: 904-651-3504 - please leave a message if no answer.

DINOCOSTA

P.S. Easily a top 5 contender for allaccess post of the year.

P.S. NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE!!!

Actually Barney you may be surprised about Mr. Paul - he has contacted me a few times via email and has been very cordial as well.

I hope it was obvious that I was only kidding when suggesting you were him.

Wait, maybe you're Jeffco...:)

As for your note and my willingness to converse with people in job related situations, this is something that for the life of me I have never been able to figure out within our industry.

Why many program directors and general managers are so unwilling to speak with a "talk" talent, makes no sense to me whatsoever.

The "NO PHONE CALLS" tag line at the end of some messages on allaccess and other radio job websites is baffling quite frankly.

That is why is was my pleasure in dealing with the likes of people like Bruce Collins, Rick DiLorenzo, Jerry Del Core, and others at CC a few weeks back...and more recently - folks like Jimmy Powers and David Dickey are also first class individuals who seem to always welcome an opportunity to speak with people in a down to earth and one on one fashion without a problem.

I find it refreshing.

The problem with our industry as I have long contended, is that many in high profile positions deem themselves and their position with far more importance than what it is in reality.

They also forget many times where they have come from - and seem to lose perspective and or appreciation for the field of radio and the numerous multiple sacrifices that many of us (including them) have made - and they seem to ignore the fact that radio is an industry that is driven by passion and enthusiasm...or so it should be.

Radio should be fun.

The day this industry becomes just a job to me, or something along the lines of nothing more than a clinical exercise - is the day I leave it for good.

As for my position, I regret to inform you (depending on your point of view!) that I accepted something outside of the Atlanta market...however in a top 20 city that I'm very much looking forward to.

Cannot detail yet.

best of luck to you!

Re: P.S. NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE!!!

Yes, if your claim was true you would have a significant point, sir.

The Sports Doctor sucks up to nobody and never has...nor ever will.

The Sports Doctor is simply making a point that it was refreshing to deal with peoples over the last few weeks who don't project themselves in a holier than thou way.

The Sports Doctor ain't coming to Atlanta anyway so your point (or attempt) is illegitimate.

This has been fun, enjoyed the banter, hope you enjoyed it too, best of luck to everyone in Atlanta.

Sincerely,

Rick Camp
