You don't have to be a fly on the wall of the Master Blogger to realize Kid Stevens is more important to the success of KT'R-FM than Pat McBland. The kid gets it...McBland has no clue and never will. 1-3pm is just as competitive with Kid as 8:30-Noon with Aunt Carlos. And WHAT A DIFFERENCE Kid makes on The Newsroom...he even gets Mitch Otto to sound interesting! Nurse Jeff and I think it's time for TMISU to open their wallets even wider and do whatever it takes to make Kid permanent from 1-4pm. Stop Kidding around!
 
This week has been great.

I think KTAR need to pony up the Bucks and give "KID" the afternoon drive.

Kid, ditch the Hip Hop and come back to talk! We need a fresh voice and thoughts on KTAR.

Hell KTAR even gave Kid a email, thats a good sign. ;D
 
Sorry but 'The Kid' is a very, very weak talk show host. Everytime I hear him on KTAR discussing issues he sounds like an in-over-his head rejuvenile, and that stupid affected sqeaky voice always reminds me of Phil Hendrie doing his RC Collins character ("I'm part of the younger generation, Mr Hendrie, and here's how we see it"). In other words, a middle-aged guy trying to sound young. It's a really weird act and in no way better than McMahon. Albeit the switch to FM makes him sound older and wobblier than ever but he's still got the goods and credibility that a stunted adolescent like the guy who calls himself a kid isn't going to have until he drops the lame schtick.

I disagree, Pat sucks and Kid rocks.,

I have had a great week listing to kid. I wasn't falling asleep, and didn't feel like I had to buy something from the guest. ;D

Yes, Pat McMahon is old but how does that make The Kid good? None of you people who say Kid is the future of KTAR and maybe even the very future of talk radio itself are saying what makes him such a god of talk show hosts. Is it that squeaky would-be attidudinal in-your-face delivery you like? The incoherent passion? The raving in-over-his-head ignorance on display when he tries to talk serious issues? What is so great about the king of the upper registers?
 
Yo, D.A. - the Nurse and I never said Kid was a talk radio god, but he is markedly better than any other KT'R fill-in host (Dixon, Lawrence, Femino, etc) and knows how to keep things interesting. TMISU are straddling the fence on 1-4pm, but two things are fersure: McBland is KT'R's past...Kid is its future.
 
I don't think Pat's the future of KTAR either, but he's still solid enough and a better right-now solution for them than that other horse's ass and his infantile nom de plume. Pat works for now and has a lot of sponsors to boot.
