STOPIBOC.COM - WEBSITE SHOULD BE BACK SOON

I have gotten numerous PMs concerning stopiboc.com, and the fact that the site is down. The site operators are aware of the problem.

The site-hosting company had a major meltdown a few months after being purchased by new principals, and allegedly were not backing their system up regularly - or properly. About 50 of their local clients, including stopiboc.com, have lost their sites, internet access and e-mail. It's a major problem affecting even some major municipalities here in the local area. Consultants are trying to rebuild the server software but it's taking time.

In the meantime a new ISP is being sought for the site. It should be back up before too long, hopefully.

You're kidding, right?

Oh what the heck. It's not like there were anything as high as HD2 audience numbers for this site, anyway.

Sorry it's down. Honestly, I am. Can't believe you don't have a better backup plan, though. Holler if I can help. All of our stuff can be rerouted in minutes.

I was one of the ones who asked what happened to it, one of the forums I belong to has an IBOC section and the members were dismayed when they found out it was down. We need websites like stopiboc although I think IBOC itself is stopiboc's strongest spokesman ;D. Many DXers and amateurs I know don't want to join as they feel we may not be the correct people to join, they feel it should be only the broadcasters so it doesn't seem like a DXer slanted organization, most DXers hate it for obvious reasons and feel that this obvious natural antipathy would probably negate any impact we could have, I disagree and joined it anyway as I hate it from a consumer's point also simply because it blocks some stations I liked to listen to in my car. I think most people don't complain about it out of sheer ignorance that it even exists.
