Storm-caused broadcast problems

The last two storm systems that moved thru SoCal have brought troubles to both AM and FM outlets here.
KWRM 1370 Corona, lost the top half of a tower, in their 5 stick array.Appears to be on low power, ND, now.
KRTM, the limited budget 88.9, located on Pauma Reservation land, has suffered damage to their power gene-
rating equipment. They are now back on (Friday). While KTRM was off, the San Pasqual translator entertained its
coverage area by rebroadcasting co-channel stns. KUCI, or KTLW. Or just plain atmospheric noise the RX was picking
up .Would be better if their RX had a carrier detection level option installed. The Penfold O/O station will be building
an AUX site in Temecula, with a 1 watt ERP. For more information, you can talk with them at the Penfold
Bakery..-in Downtown Temecula.
Baja stns. still on reduced power, as observed in San Diego: Z90, 92.5, 1310, and 1030. All Cerro Bolla FM's suffered
lost audio, power , or both during last month's storm. Mains power to the mountain was damaged. The service road to
the top is reached by going off road for about 600', where it crosses a dry wash about 300' wide. Except it ain't dry
since the east side of the mountain has been shedding the runoff down this "wash" . Makes it difficult to get the fuel
up the mountain, and the employees down. Four other crossings in the area are also under water. Hurts the farmfields
on the other side, also.
XESSD, 1030, Puerto Nuevo, was off for several days. Now seems to be at around a 500 watt level. This outlet defys
the laws of Electrical Principles (and the SCT) by having a single-tower, directional station.
Probably not storm related, KNX went non-HD about a month ago. Back to 10khz audio, and sounded great again. Un-
fortunately the dreaded IBOC came back on Monday. Probably suffered another of Ibiquity's numerous software glitches
which locks up the sealed "Black Box". Related: KBRT's successful upper digital carrier suppression scheme resulted in
the lower digital carrier power being measurably increased by, oh, about 8 times, for about a week. It has since been
reduced back to its previous symmetrical level.
