STORM COVERAGE 2009

Another bad storm here in Rutland...quick Mr Marbles, to Cat-Mobile!!! Grab your cell phone, let's get us some more coverage and awards...any trees down? Let the Great One know and he will be there to cover all the action!! In the meantime, I will wait patiently for Monday morning to get bored back to sleep by the WSYB Morning show...does anyone really care who's birthday it is?

I was on air when they hit danbury CT on friday... EAS went off for a tornado warning too! I had it on air 3 minutes before the Eas activated since it has to wait til the end of the message. too bad there is no way to over ride it when your not the engeneer to just announce it. would that be against any FCC regulations if eas does not go off for severe thunderstorm or Flash flooding?

EAS is a joke. I can understand a tornado warning or the blizzard-of-the-century warning, but, literally, EVERY time a thunderstorm is coming? The 'E' stands for EMERGENCY.

EAS should go off when a severe thunderstorm warning is issued by the local national weather service office and can be heard over NOAA Weather Radio as well. Better to have that, than a voice tracked weather forecast that may have been correct several days ago when the voice track was made..

And a Thunderstorm constitutes an emergency. The second leading cause of storm related death is lightning. (Look it up, the first is driving accidents in winter storms).
If a thunderstorm is approaching, there is cause to be alert and aware and I personally believe is the best use for EAS. To ALERT you (the A in EAS) of an impending threat.

MORE songs on WSYB? When did the morning show become American Bandstand or Casey's Countdown? I thought it was a TALK station! The host needs help getting to 9am everyday so he plays MUSIC?
