Storm coverage - Harvey

Well technically true, but you won't be able to drive to Galveston. Not to mention that you might not even make it to Houston. I had my flight cancelled twice already. I was supposed to be back from Guatemala Saturday and I'm still here. No telling when I will be back. I had my second flight for Wednesday cancelled too. From what I heard both Hobby and Bush are closed. The planes looked like sharks in Hobby and Bush was 90% closed.

The "planes looked like sharks" was someone using Photoshop. The airports, ecopark, and the parking garages aren't flooded. 45 is now clear from the Galleria to Galveston. I'm not sure about how 45 is around downtown.

But yes, the airports remain closed, but may be open by Friday.

Oh ok, but yeah I'm still stuck here in Guatemala there aren't any flights back to Houston available from now to September the 3rd.

The airports are fine. The roads to the airports had been under water. There has been a ban on airspace over Houston to allow all the air rescues and folks like Coast Guard and National Guard to get supplies in for Houston.

Even the mail is not getting out there. A major USPS distribution center is in Houston. Even FedEx and UPS are unable to function, needing the airports to get stuff places.

Just seeing an I-45 report: you will have to jump around to dry roads but it is possible to get across Houston. Big hazard is road debris. I'll add, the issue is still getting on and off the freeway. Many exits are still under water.

Iheart KTRH 750am has been rebroadcasting out of the following translators 24/7 K287BQ 105.3fm, K223CL 92.5fm, K231CN 94.1fm and K283CH. This are all the station that belongs to
Centro in Houston.

Doesn't make up for the fact that they continue to illegally interfere with other licensed facilities.

Those translators have been a mess even before the hurricane arrived. Their stereo pilot was off and they seemed to have lowered their power the week before the hurricane. During the hurricane, most of their translators were broadcasting silence or off the air. I think their address has them sharing studios with Clear Channel, so they probably got permission to rebroadcast KTRH.

All the available iHeartRadio stations are simulcasting this morning (KLVI/KYKR/KCOL/KKMY/KIOC) after the city of Beaumont water supply was lost.

The Centro pirates are back on air with normal programming...

Sounds like Sinclair needs to step it up a bit. No link, but on the local teeveenewz tonight they said the company as a whole raised something like $400,000 dollars so far, and $50,000 of that came from the local stations in my market (WPMI/WJTC/WEAR/WFGX).

Sinclair did the same thing with KIMA/KEPR tonight. They had about 200 people come to the Terrace Heights KIMA studios and donate $$$.

Hope khou is finally considering a move away from Allen Parkway. Get some space inside one of the buildings downtown
