Storm coverage via radio in Vigo Co.

I have to tip my hat to thank those at Emmis WTHI-FM, Besides the usual break-ins from the National Weather Service they were the only LIVE station that gave important information about storm damage and street flooding. I guess that's one of many good things that come about from live, and local radio. The voice tracking stations in town couldn't come close. Thanks again HI-99!

WTHI-TV and WTHI-FM have been working together very well on the flood coverage today. Thumbs up to Storm Team 10 (all three of them!), Patrece Dayton, and Frank Rush, who were all reporting on TV 10 when I was watching over my lunch break.

WTWO has had a ticker going, and I'm told they've been airing news updates, but I haven't caught any of them yet (my only TV time today was during lunch, and WTWO was "busy" with tennis)

I did hear Party Marty on The Crock this morning giving some information. Not sure if he was live or voiced tracked. But it's times like today when radio needs to get it together and inform the public, I'm not interested in another ten songs in a row when flood waters are knocking on my door!
WTHI-TV did do a surperb job today, didn't see TV-2.

As I said in another thread, I'm in TH tonight as my son is playing in the statewide Special Olympics, and I did hear some of WTHI-FMs coverage and see some of the TV side's at the motel. I noted WMGI off the air until ewarly afternoon.

Party Marty was live on the Crock, as I was also live on B102.7. We were right there updating as soon as we could get to the station. Julie Henricks was also live before I got there giving weather updates in the early am. It was a no brainer to me to be at the station. That's where good live and local radio beats an I-pod anyday. Other station personnel were stranded, or they would have been there also.
