Storm COVERAGE.

I just can't believe NO ONE has posted anything here about who did a good job at the storm coverage. What gives?

HANDS DOWN, KTRS!

KMOX still ran Rush, eventhough this was the biggest power outage in our history. I couldn't believe that.

Every show, for days, ran continuous coverage of the storm. I heard talent literally say, "If you need something, call us, and we can get it to you." That was great radio. It shows that NOTHING beats LOCAL and LIVE radio.

Now, go ahead, be smart. Call me Kramer. Etc. No one ever writes anything of value on this board. It stinks.

In the world of radio (and the competitive media in general), reputation affects listenership, which affects ratings, and thereby revenue.

Imagine a satellite-delivered FM station that doesn't even bother to trigger the EAS. That may not hurt ratings, but it will definitely not increase them. People will not be abuzz that WXXX tried everything they could to make the disaster more manageable.

Since I don't reside in St. Louis, I have no idea if the masses are praising KTRS. But I am 100% sure that Satellite-Delivered WXYZ is getting no positive attention.

NOBODY ever praises KTRS for ANYTHING. The station is the biggest joke in St. Louis since Stan Kann. They have good baseball numbers, but NOTHING the rest of the day. Why? The product is simply garbage.

Maybe its that you're too boring to get it? I think the product is just FINE. Its more entertaining than anything on 97.1 and MOX. That's for damn sure.

I agree with ArtieFufkin. Yes, I listen to the Cards on 550 when I'm not around a TV, but I have no use for any of the BORING shows in the other dayparts. The last time I listened to Kramer the topic was "What is Nougout?" Hey, if that's exciting radio to you poopoo, then you can have it.

And, what makes you think we would prefer 97.1 or MOX? I don't listen to that either. I like KSHE, KHIT's, The Arch, and KFNS.

It's because you are Kramer, and you only know about this market what ABL (who may know even less) tells you.

[EDIT]--inflammatory

If the other dayparts suck so much, why are their numbers climbing? Kramer is rarely preempted by Cardinal baseball so you can't credit the birds. FOP had a drop and he IS sharing much more time with the Cardinals. I have to agree George is a little dry in the mornings, but the rest of the lineup rocks!!
