If your power is out, you count on radio for information. Could anyone do that yesterday? Just out of habit, I turned on the local station when I got in the car yesterday, but of course that didn't work. I don't know what the situation was for them, but I later learned my aunt's power was out, so chances are the transmitter site's power was out. I don't know about the situation around the studios. I was relieved my power was on when I got home.

This morning, the station was on as usual with some information about the current situation, but also a list of things that would happen on the station over the weekend. Life must go on!
 
When I worked in South Florida radio the stations had emergency generators (that's not to say they generated emergencies)! :)

The thought was you can't always depend on the local power company (they are much better here) and the commercials must run! Oh yea there is that public service thing. ;D
