Strange Happening with WBGC??

It seems that the WBGC application for an STA to remain off the air was signed by the owner, a women in Tallhassee.....however, from what I understand, the signature was dated almost 2 weeks AFTER she was buried......sounds a little fishy to me.

Anyone care to comment?

I thought WBGC had returned to the air and was in the process of being sold to a local? I was unaware the owner had passed away and someone associated with the station had filed for an extension to remain silent. What are the dates on the most recent STA application?

There is a fairly complete thread regarding WBGC from back in November. On November 12th, the following was posted in that thread:

I am pleased to report WBGC will return to the air this weekend. The power will be back on later today and I will be making an inspection to report on conditions in the studio/transmitter building to the late owner's son. We will be returning to our oldies/adult standards format and re-adding Fox and FNN news in the coming days. Other local programs are in the works.

On a related development, I am sad to report the passing of WBGC owner Dr. Jacquelyn Collier Pembroke after a long illness this past Monday. Her son, Rev. Arthur Collier III will be moving to this area in the next few months to assume a full-time role in the operation of the station.

Thank you to all the inquiries and comments on WBGC. They are greatly appreciated. Please pray for Rev. Collier during this difficult time and for a new beginning for Washington County's only broadcast outlet 1240AM WBGC.

It is true that the Resumption of Operations form is allegedly signed by the deceased owner, but if one looks at the full form, it can be seen that the Maryland law office of MILLER & NEELY actually filled in the form and filed it on behalf of the licensee. They probably decided that it was cheapest and easiest to do it this way, then change the legal ownership to the son later. It's technically incorrect, but a technicality at most.
