Strange interruption of Rush Limbaugh Show

I was listening to a weekend repeat of The Rush Limbaugh Show on a local station, and all throughout there was a very annoying beeping tone in the background. It sounded a bit like morse code. About 40 min. into hour two, the local station's announcer broke in and issued an apology for "the mose code-like beeping noise that you're hearing in the background". He said that the noise was "coming from the network, and there is not anything that we can do about it". He then announced that they were going to end the Rush Limbaugh broadcast and join another show, already in progress. Any ideas what was going on there?
 
All Premiere talk programming is moving from Starguide III to XDS satellite format. All Rush affiliates are supposed to be on XDS already. The network is inserting a tone on the SG III audio as a warning. Premiere will be dropping the SG III feed of Rush and others within a month if I remember correctly.

The local announcer seemed very confused by what was going on.
Tells me that his boss does not have the money to convert to the new system.
I wonder if he got his paycheck this week?

The beeping was obviously the MSM sending subliminal morse code messages out to the conservative audience, telling them that Obama is God.

Of course the most intelligent listeners know that since the MSM companies have to air Limbaugh, the only way to mitigate the damage he causes is to resort to this kind of psychological warfare.

It's true. Just ask those from the land of Wingnuttia.

They shouldn't have to spend any money. If they are an authorized Rush affiliate, they should have received a replacement receiver already. I do engineering for 3 stations that air Premiere programming. I've had their XDS receivers in for several months now.

Premiere claims they've ceased Starguide III broadcasting as of May 26th.

More likely didn't have the money to pay an engineer to install the XDS receiver. Same thing happened at our Dr. Laura affiliate - was dead air for a week but they got it fixed.

Yes but they probably enjoyed the dead air better :eek:

Besides when there is nobody at the local station, or if they are there they never answer the telephone. Good luck on contacting anybody at the local station since most of them are all automated these days.

ahh....that would explain the dead air too, I guess.

We used to have a homeless guy named Bob Lansberry who wandered around the streets of downtown Pittsburgh.
He claimed to have been used as a guinea pig for government mind-control experiments while he was serving in the Korean War. He used to parade up and down in front of the Federal Bldg. wearing a sandwich board that read "Does Secret Radio Control Your Mind?" Once a year he would hop a Greyhound to DC and spend a week wearing it in front of the Capitol.

He once ran for Congress in a Democratic primary, and got 27,000 votes! :eek:
