Strange signals on 88.7 MHZ

I was vacationing in Florida over these past 2 weeks, and as I had my MIFI satellite radio tuned on and then off at the frequency 88.7, I heard the most interesting pirate radio that anyone can imagine.
What's interesting is that I understand the state of Florida is one of the worst states to screw the airwaves up in. They even have enforced police scanner laws, and I have read people facing strong jail times or fines, just putting a signal on the air.

But as I was cruising up on 95, I heard F- this, N-this constantly, and as the jocks (if you want to call them that)were taking phone calls , even the callers were saying anything they damn well please. The phone calls were constant, (you could hear the three way calling sound interupting the current calls.
I pictured these guys doing a live remote on a public corner in the raw. I had quite a few chuckles and laughs while driving and then when I was losing the signal, I picked up another show on top of this one which were white announcers (sounding more professional) discussing with the F- word on how to beat a drug test while applying for a job. I listened briefly until I lost that signal, while last but not least a christian station comes on called WAY-FM.

I tuned away to 89.1 and another Rap station with obscenities, with music and announcing with the N-word every 20 seconds at least.
Yes, it was the real thing that took my attention away from satellite radio for awhile.

The question is where is the no nonsense FCC on this one?

Do you think anyone from the Friendly Candy Company reads this board?

Maybe that's what they do instead of shutting down pirates?

You think that's Strange?

The Pirates down here sell Commercials, give away Prizes, and run PSA's.

Sure, and they even give out their address too. You must admit, the technology of some South Florida pirates rival Commercial Broadcasters.

In 2002 and 2003 when I was an avid listener of PARTY-93.1 there was a small portion of the Homestead area (Leisure City) where 93.1 would practically fade out due to the raw and monstrous signal being put out at 93.5 by a pirate station. U.S. 1 was actually the western perimeter of this small area, so if the FCC ever monitored this area from this major Federal highway then they would've been able to find the culprit in no time at all in the small neighbourhood running adjacent to it. I often joked to myself that this pirate station was single-handedly reducing PARTY-93.1's ratings at the time by 0.1.

Great point by miamimadman. Geez, I've been catching 97.7 for almost a decade now, and as madman pointed out, they've long sold commercials, hosted remotes, conducted joint appearances with 99 Jamz DJ's, and have liberally given out their address.
