Have you ever heard a radio promotion that make you go, "huh?"

Post strange radio contests, promotions or events that you have heard.

And see if you can do even better than this one...

... from one of the many "Kiss" stations.

The original seven-minute promo for KHJ's "Zork" in January of 1977 would have to make the list:

No, it wasn't an in-house joke. "Zork" wandered the streets of L.A. giving away cash. And, according to PD Charlie Van Dyke,

"When it was time for him to leave, ZORK boarded a private Lear jet (remember, this IS RKO we’re talking about) and the KHJ crew gathered at the airport for his departure."

(L-R: Mark Elliott, Charlie Van Dyke, John Leader, Zork, Shana and J.B. Stone)

And yes, KHJ's "Zork" inspired the folks who did TM's "Tomorrow Radio" parody later in 1977 to have Charlie Van Dyke voice two other "Zork" promos---one for a "Kid Radio" format:

...and one for the imaginary radio station in the parody after it flips to "Punk Country":

"Kiss for KISS tickets" on CJAY in Calgary:

The result was too hot for the both the DJ (he cut it short) and YouTube (they restricted it to 18+) to handle, but the video went viral (over one million views).
