ok, now I was a fan of strawberry when he was on nites at wild 949, now that he is on mornings, well, he is still good on the mic and he does relate to his audience, but his "crew" is NOT. First don't bring in "talent" from the east to wake up the west, fay is from miami and it shows, she doesn't relate to the younger crowd from the bay, and his producer,whatever his name is, well HOLLYWOOD was better. this show is gayish sounding, maybe cuz most members flaunt it on the air. too bad strawberry took the money and ran, he should have stayed on the nite shift, I give it til maybe christmas, and then wild will have a new morning show for new years day. dam corporate radio, always messing stuff up when it should not be messed with, watch, when and if the doghouse comes back to the bay, the ratings will shoot through the roof again, because even though some people don't like hear it, they are better than most if not all of the SF morning radio shows out there today. just my opinion, so don't start flamin me!!

I'm curious -- what do you mean, exactly? Are there openly gay on-air people in the morning crew there? Or are you talking about listener phone calls? Are they trying to compete with Energy (which has Greg the Gay Sportscaster etc) in that regard?

well, if you read "fay's" bio on wild949.com, it states that "And when she’s being bad, just find the closest shoe store or gay club, “Your Girlfriend Fay” is probably there!"
and she lives in the castro to "be near my people!”..... now I can appreciate everyones personal preferance, but you have got to relate to the listening audience. both STRAIGHT and GAY. she could be GAY in real life and "play" straight on the air. part of radio is "acting" making the audience believe what you want them to hear, perfect example is RICK CHASE, most of the callers to his show were in fact rick doing impressions, he was so good at what he did, you could tell he was happy on the air and he enjoyed bringing audio entertainment to the people, we don't have many like him anymore, except maybe john london, bill lee, L&T and sully, the doghouse, howard stern. just my opinion.
