Stream measurement

Read post #14.
Sure, but Alexa catches a lot of search data. I'm sure that is also 'monetized' in some way -- just as searches on Amazon's website are monetized (they suggest various products related to searches) and search engines also monetize data.

It appears that the measurement devices are picking up streams, albeit small figures. Simple question. Is radio corporate radio finally going to take streaming seriously?
Until there is some new agreement on digital rights payments, there is no apparent way for free ad-supported streams to make money. Further, the AFTRA-SAG rules for agency spots with union talent make stream simulcasts in larger markets nearly impossible.

Maybe they monetize the data somehow?

I once asked Alexa what an acoustic-optic hammer was, and proceeded to get suggestions for medical devices in my amazon stream for weeks thereafter

This surprisingly shows that most stations that stream still get the majority of their audience through conventional radio. WINS, for example, is a 4.3 whilst it's streaming counterpart is a 1.1. WNEW is a 3.6 in the January shares, whilst their streaming was 0.3 during the holiday slot. At least the streaming has risen consistently.
Thank God for the internet.
