Stream on cell phone

I would like to listen to a radio station stream on my cell phone. I have a verizon LG. Do I need a new phone and service plan? Costs? Does the phone need a media player to stream audio?

Try the Blackjack smartphone from Cingular/AT&T. Check their website for data plans (they're pretty reasonable). I've listened to Windows Media streams on it and it's pretty impressive!

Several services offer streaming on any cell phone...for example, my station Radio Bop can be heard on ANY phone simply by dialing 646-213-0005 and entering code 2805 when prompted...or you can visit our provider at upsnap.com and choose from many stations of many different formats...they also have plans whereby you can select 5 stations for 4.99/month to listen to without commercial interruptions...

The best fidelity on a mobile is with pTunes on a Treo which allows you to stream any internet station with excellent fidelity (albeit mono) which I use to monitor my streams virtually anywhere...

Lest people end up thinking that this method is what cell phone radio is all about, THIS IS NOT what it's all about. This is crappy telephone audio quality.

Today's Internet-capable cell phones use separate DATA connections that are similar to what your computer at home and work uses. Same digital quality.

Yeah, I know this is an old topic. Well, I don't think you can stream on the LG. You might want to try a PDA phone on either Verizon, Sprint or Cingular, as they have a network powerful enough to carry the stream. I'd recommend a Windows Mobile PDA to be able to stream the most content possible (WMA and MP3).
