Streamgeeks and Shoutatme.com Servers Down

Anyone know what the real story is here?

Every time i turn around our streams are down. We use this for our network feeds throughout the state and reliable they aren't.

I went to a site with a supposed dead transmitter today and discovered (7 hours round trip later) that the stream has been on and off since Sunday. After I email the site admin I get an email noting backbone issues for the past several days they hope to have resolved soon. I don't know what soon and several days have in common with each other. Anyone else have an idea?

Don't I know it. We have four streams down and 7 affiliated stations impacted. I am so sick of the layers of outsoucing in the server industry...it is difficult to really ever find out what's going on and who is truly reliable.

I have several stations off. No answer to my question of when it will return. What a Merry Christmas! This happened awhile back when the server company shut down and even then the service was back up quicker than this outage.

A low-cost option would be viastreaming.com. They are extremely reliable for their cost. If your current provider cannot get it straightened out by now, you might as well start switching the affiliate stations over...
