Hi all, I'm just curious what streaming provider you would go with if you had an am or fm station to stream. Here are my thoughts, streamtheworld would be my first choice, with a player design much like the one used by the former Citadel stations. About the only thing wrong with them is that their streams are listed as being only 75% reliable according to TuneIn. Liquidcompass is quite a bit more reliable, but not as customizable. Also, their mp3 streams aren't as easy to find. I will investigate them in the next few days though. If I was all about buying local, I would go with Abacast, but only version 3 of their flash player, I don't like 4 or 5. Actually, I haven't seen anyone using 4, but my biggest complaint about 5 is that the urls look something like v5.player.abacast.com/flashplayer/uid4680 or something similar, the callsign is nowhere in the url. This makes it very difficult to see if one station is streaming if I find another station owned by the same company. For example, if Cherry Creek were using streamtheworld, I could just replace KPQFM with KAAPFM and have an answer to whether or not this station was streaming. Another option that seems to be growing in popularity is the social streaming player from Chrystal Media Networks. Again, not that custumizable and I have yet to find the mp3 links to those stations, haven't found them for Abacast either. Abacast seems to be the most reliable though.
