streaming...

was reading a topic about streaming..what are your favorite memories pre stream?

I remember going on a trip to DC sometime around 1991 in junior high. We picked up 95.5 just about until we went over this huge bridge near the state line, and it was gone.
Other fun memories are discovering local stations in Florida, since your main ones are no longer accessable. I remember driving through, I think it was Georgia, and while looking for something to listen too, came across a station that was playing all movie themes! It didn't last long, but in the 90s before XM, it was rather cool to hear!

Even more fun was on the autotrain.... stations never lasted more than a few minutes..but it was fun to hear local commercials!
even more challenging was listening to TV on my Audio TV tuner :).

Now with streaming, people would have a tendancy to stick to what they know, rather than see what's around local..wouldn't you think?

In the early 2000s the only way for me to hear a dance station was to listen to Party 105.3 during a tropo opening or my rare trips to Long Island or Connecticut.
