first of all, I'm responding to the back handed slaps I recieve here frequently,from the dreamers who think that by wishing the world would change will make it so;
a generation has now grown up without dance as a driving force,and a game plan needs to be in effect to alter the playing field, not just a lot of crying because 'radio is shoving hip hop down everyone's throats';
sorry, that just isn't so; as my dear friend Cherry Vanilla once said,
you can't rape the willing"
as to the Strictly label, no slights were intended, certainly not by me; as a key Billboard sales reporter from that label's inception, I helped to break, chart (at the reborn WKTU) and cross over (to Z100 and WPLJ) all the huge Strictly singles (and some not so huge) that made big noise back then;
that's not the point, the point is that people need to wake up to the cultural reality of the situation and get over themselves already
