Strong Pirate on WSUS freq.102.3

Very strong Pirate on 102.3 which can be heard from Paterson to Edison along the Parkway. "Blaze FM" stupid enough to give out there phone number. I've been working with the FCC to track them down and I was out last night with a FIM and they are coming from somewhere in Ervington. The FCC are out tonight homing in on him and the feds will close him done next week. The station is running high power in stereo with professional sound and a digital delay when you call up and go on the air. It took me 3 weeks to get the FCC moving on this guy. I have them also busting the township of Cranford next week TIS station which they are running like a local AM station playing music, rock during the day and big band at night also broadcasting school concerts and church services on Sunday. Totally illegal. It's suppose to play the NWS and be an emergency information station with ID of Cranford,NJ.

If your on the parkway tune in between Westfield and Union 680 AM 10 watts ND transmitter at exit 138. Antenna can be seen from the parkway right at exit 138 Roselle/Cranford.

Also a strong pirate on 106.3 coming from the meadowlands with very high modulation and distortion.

Very interesting, as that's close to where I am right now. Exit 138 is actually in Kenilworth, while exit 137 is in Cranford, where the GSP rises up above the railroad tracks. Just wondering where their stick is, but I'll whip out my FIM tomorrow just to find out anyway.

There's been a strong pirate on 106.3 with high modulation coming from the Bronx since last June or July! I haven't heard them on a few days or nights lately, so don't know if they're shut down yet, but similar to your 102.3 pirate have a call in number and also a website at http://www.royalradio1063.com

Good Luck

The stick is on a warehouse behind the public works building onthe GSP southbound side.

Alot of these pirates change locations, so not to get caught. 102.3 operates 6P-2A M-F and all weekend day and night. The problem is that it takes radio engineers to tell the FCC about them. What happened to the old days when the FCC worked themselves, all they care about these days is busting legal stations on if there EAS works or of they have a public file. Wheres the pirates public file? Cranford has been operating illegal for 2 years now and it takes me a concerned radio engineer to tell the FCC.

Blaze FM was silenced and Cranford 680 was warned to operate there station properly or loose there license. Danny Noel of the NYC FCC field office shut them down.

Good job getting them shut down after only a few days. There are many other pirate stations that have been on the air for years in the New York City area. I guess the FCC needs complaints from licensed stations before they even start to investigate.

Maybe WQXR could help shut down that 96.1 pirate in Newark.<P ID="signature">______________

It's not the same guy, this is another pirate on 102.3 interfering with WSUS in Paterson calling himself Radio Carribean. I heard him once before Blaze FM came on. Blaze FM is OFF. There phone is disconnected also. I must say they had great sound for a pirate. Radio Carribean sounds bland. I homed in on him a few hours ago. Tomorrow I call Danny at the FCC. Anyway he'll be gone soon too. The Cranford station learned there lesson after running a TIS station for 2 years like a local AM station playing music and school concerts and church services. First of all you don't put a TIS station on 680. I turned them in. They all belong in the expanded band and all the legal stations in the expanded band should not have there licenses renewed. It was a big mistake to expand the AM band. It proved nothing. It's a big glop at night like the rest of the band. Next the FCC is shutting down the Jewish gang on 1710 in Brooklyn thats been on for years. Danny is going there tomorrow. I'm keeping him busy. Is the 96.1 station on and where do you think they are in Newark?

Do you know if the FCC will bust the dozen pirates in Brooklyn? Their been on for years. They all air Caribbean music.

They are aware and now giving the police to help them since there is so many. It's getting out of hand and pirates are poping up everywhere.

A peice of advice. Stop advertising what you are doing in a public forum. don't you think these pirates read these forums. I wish you guys would quit your vigilante mission against pirates. I may despise your actions but do care about you as fellow human beings. Busting country pirates is a whole different ballgame than screwing with these city pirates most of which are run by immigrant gangs and home grown wacko's. so at a minimum if you won't quit entirely quit your bragging on public forums, i hate to see something happen to you guys or see you disappear never to be heard from again.

This is just some friendly advice from one fellow human being to another

as a side note people who live in glass houses should not throw stones :)
