Studio-in-a-Box goes to Sierra Leone

This has got to be one of the coolest things I've seen.
Radio Netherlands Worldwide (RNW) no longer needs their older "emergency studio" packages, so they are donating them to groups like this one, in Sierra Leone.

Check out the video. I wonder if RNW would like to sell a copy of the plans for these "Studio in a Box" units. I'd give them $25, to help offset their budget cuts.

Nice to see that people around the world like this project. This all started with a trip I made for our radiostation (Radio 538 in the Netherlands).

As a preparation for a fundraise week we travelled with Dutch NGO Warchild to their projects in Sierra Leone. We met so many wonderful and inspiring people. While we were there, we teached a couple of children how to do an interview. In a country like Sierra Leone it is not normal that a younger person talks to an elderly person. It is almost impossible to ask the mayor of your village why he didn't do the things he promised. As a 'journalist' you can.

In this video you can see what we tried to do. The best moment was in the evening of the day we teached them. While we had dinner, we tried to listen to the local radiostation and heard the same guys we teached that day telling what they learned and spreading our information. THAT IS WHAT RADIO IS ABOUT!!!

Although most language is in Dutch, I think you will get the point.
