Studio & Jocks & Rumors my best memory is

Studio & Jocks & Rumors my best memory is

...... "Fish Heads" is right to my memory..... I was drinking in thoes days however; not that much though. Chris Bailey
was brought in from KCBQ and was pd and on the air. He was a "jock" like no other at the station ; fast upbeat
knock down drag out in your face switchblade-knife at your throat and hit the mark on each vocal . He was so high
energy ; he ended up having a mild heart attack on the air and was told by his doctor to cool it....He did and he left
so after. Than to my memory Jerry Thomas hired a young Randy Michaels from New York state for $ 18,500.00 and
the rest is history.. This was under the Taft Broadcasting History.

Urban legend has it that event happened at G98 in Cleveland? True or false?
I had the pleasure of hearing Chris Bailey at the Super Q (101.9) in Cincinnati and at WNDE (1260) in Indianapolis. Clearly one of a kind in these parts.

Leon Lowenthal was the General Manager of KRC and the Q in '75. He knew Randy from his time at the Taft stations in Buffalo and hired him to come to Cincinnati. Jerry Thomas was station manager of the Q for a short time, replaced by John Soller when they needed Thomas to do mornings on KRC, taking over for Ron Britain. Before Randy and John, the Q had five managers, 5 PDs and five formats in five years. Jim Durham had been the PD at KRC and aimed it at WSAI's 25-54 females, without actually going Top 40. When that didn't work, they brought Jim Lohse down from a successful run at WTVN in Columbus, let Scotty Jackson go and replaced him with Vance Dillard, Jim's MD at 'TVN.
