Studs Terkel dies at 96

45 years on WFMT, leaving behind some of the best interviews anyone has done anywhere. I thought he'd live forever. His spirit surely will.

I'm a fan of Lujack, Landecker, Winston, Biondi and most of the greats of Chicago radio history. Yet to me, Studs will always be the one who tops the list of what makes Chicago radio unique.

...in the credits of the movie Medium Cool, Studs was listed as "Our Man in Chicago." Damn right he was...

I discovered Studs via the radio. Never knew him otherwise. Great voice, point of view, and curiosity. A true character.

Wish him well in the great beyond, but have to say I was never a fan. Guess there's something in the water here in Chicago (kool-aid?)
