Studying for CBNT & CBT..?

I've registered for the next round of SBE certification tests for the CBNT and CBT.

I was talking to someone at the last local SBE meeting, and she said any geek or IT person could prolly nail the CBNT pretty easy, but I still want to study for it.

- Can any of you suggest which are the best study materials for the CBNT and CBT..?

Thanks

I'm a local certification chair and I've given the exam a couple of times. most people say the information is a bit old but does follow the study material from the SBE at the above listed web site. As an experienced instructor, Military, college, private etc. and a working chief engineer, I can tell you that trying to outsmart the test will hurt you. Follow the SBE suggestions and you should have no problem.

In defense of spinjector, I don't think his question was at all improper. The SBE lists 13 books just for the CBNT and even more for the CBT. Without further guidance, one would have to read and master all concepts within the 13 books just for the CBNT. Not easy. There are prep sample tests, but do these cover all the areas and actually guide someone on exactly what to study? Hopefully, they do.

My most recent experience in testing was aquiring my commercial pilot and instrument ratings. The FAA lists a couple specific booklets to study(not 13) that are very specific to the test--master the couple books, and you'll master the test material. Hopefully the SBE study material is just as specific.

I haven't looked lately but I would assume there's something on SBE University.

Oh yes they have a number of things listed, in fact - too many to choose from.

I was simply wondering if any particular flavor of the SBE study materials were better than another.

No outsmarting intended or desired.

The reason that I'm asking is that as anyone who's looked knows, the SBE charges for most of the study materials and webinars.

I'm trying to avoid wasting money on materials that end up being redundant or outdated.

Thank you for your insightful, supportive, and helpful answer. Please have a better day than you seem to already be having. Oh, and btw...stuff the attitude. Kthx.

I'm having a great day, thanks for your concern.

Oh - and pot, meet kettle.

Not a great impression for you to present to people who could possibly end up interviewing you for a job.

That may be true, but this type of knife cuts three ways. If I caught wind of a prospective employer making such rude comments, I would think very long and very hard about taking a job with said employer. And you may want to look at your own prospects if you post like this on a regular basis.

My original question was polite and open. Your reply was unkind, unhelpful, and unnecessary.
