Chuck did go from WMCA directly to KFRC, and then to KHJ. That only lasted six months (I'm told it was something he said on-air).

Another classic Browning intro on KHJ (not what got him fired) this one over the intro to "He's Not Heavy, He's My Brother":

Browning was like that before the WMCA experience---including his time at WFIL and CKLW and it was decades before he mellowed out. At KGB in San Diego, a cart machine malfunctioned on the air on a weekend shift and rather than call an engineer at home, Chuck gave it away to the 13th caller and made sure they could come down to the station right away to pick it up. They did, he yanked the wires out, handed it to them, and God only knows what he told management (or for that matter, the jock who followed him).

He was off to Miami shortly after that.
