Stupid questions from a listener (96rock)

What happens with the Braves, didn't they have a contract? Is/was the contract with Clear Channel for 96 rock or will they have to put them on another cc station?
What happens to the dj's that were left? Do they just get paid off or does cc have to put them somewhere?
What happens with the RG's contract lawsuit?
What's better XM or Sirius?

I have a feeling CC will put the Braves on a different FM signal. It really wouldn't mesh very well with the active rock format (not that it ever worked very well on 96rock- probably one of the bigger reasons behind its demise).

I don't see how this affects the Reg Guys(Larry's) lawsuit?

I say the Braves end up on 94.9 which will no doubt be flipping after Christmas as CC/Atlanta continues to rearrange the chairs on the deck.

That makes a lot of sense.

I thought he was suing or going to sue because they had a non compete clause and for lost wages etc. Didn't know if 96 being no more would affect anything. I guess cc didn't go out of business so it wouldn't matter.

With a good lawyer, you can now make the case that this was a lame attempt to Fire the RG's with cause when the truth is you knew you were blowing up the station and would have had to pay them off to get rid of them. It may be hard to find actual proof, but the circumstances of the timing, the PD's approval of the bit and the rather innocuous nature of it all compared to other radio stunts could help them in court.

It shouldn't take too much lawyer to point out the suspicious timing. The idea of a morning show team being fired for pranking another morning show team is surprising, that the station changes the format mere weeks later just screams that they were trying to avoid contract obligations that would present themselves at format change time. Are we to beleive that they decided to change formats and actually execute it within the weeks after firing RG for the prank? C'mon.
Firing RG was a malicious attempt to defraud them of the money owed to them for ending the contract early in order to change formats, malicous because they harmed their reputations in order to further the process of defrauding them.

What's better XM or Sirus?

I like XM. Opie and Anthony put on a great show.
They also have MLB, College Football, NHL, NASCAR.

Yes you are right it helps build a conspiracy theoruy. I thought in the origiinal post hew was implying that with 96 Rock gone there was no one left to sue.

Paying out the RG's contract is chump change in a multi-billion dollar corperation.
The RG's being fired, I think, is for the exact reason stated. It did fall nicely into the scheme of things......but it seems, in life, that happens often!
Some of you guys give the Regular Guys WAAAAAAY to much credit(or blame.) They were really just a very small piece of the puzzle.

The Braves contract was for the 100,000 watt 96.1 frequency. I'm 99% sure the team will remain there or CC will have to make some major concessions.
