Here is the real deal boys and girls...
When a station changes formats and does so for a month... Playing Christmas music or for that matter Louee louee ... It makes a statement to the advertisers that you don't care about them.... So why do you think they don't care about us .... After you ecide to spend 1,000 dollars on radio and a rep has to look you in the face and say ... Its all good.... People like to hear jingle bells in october. Are you out of your mind. I feel sorry for people who have to put up with this crap and its no wonder people say radio dosnt work..

As I was saying,,, Lets not fergit about the advertisers.. Prolonged stunts like this come at a cost. I am not ny-eve... enough not to understand what is going on here,,,, but don't think it has no impact on the totality of our industry. It does. I went thru it. I still know people who wont advertise on stations that did it. When you consider the cost of doing it. You would be better of leaving the format alone and get the sales people to work another 1 hour a day. Pens Pencils ,stationary, advertising, new order forms. Oh well fod for thought,,,,

I just happen to care about the bidness. I try to use humor in making a point er two once in a while. Have a nice day and a good meal. I try to expose the absurd by bieng ahhh Isn't that what the guy who one the Marconi does Rush sombody oh well back to the field

All of your points above are very true. The reason why
there is such a high turnover in radio reps is because
9 times out of ten they are sent out there on a limb.
Sales managers say "Every call should be a sales call".
Business people understand something most sales managers
don't: BRANDING. Rock 107, a brand, not just a station.
The old WARM: a brand. You mess with a brand, tinker with
it, Holidize it, you send a message to the advertiser that
even you don't believe in what you're selling. Anyone
remember "New Coke?" We pooh pooh satelite radio but if
it is nothing else, it is a constant. And that's why
advertisers have been using newspapers over radio for years.
It might not be the most effective or efficient, but it
is a constant and comfortable.
