Subbing For El Rushbo Today...

...WBAP talkmeister Mark Davis mentioned his station twice in the first
ten minutes, and once again coming back after the 11:30 CT local break.

It's what he said after the calls that rates a .

...Dallas/Fort Worth.

Mentioning that "other" city first on WBAP Fort Worth? Isn't that nothing
short of blasphemy? I guess Mark's not worried the ghost of Amon Carter
might come back to haunt him. ;D

Alphabetical order-wise, thats correct. Licensingwise, I believe its Ft. Worth/Dallas

Speaking of, why is Rush out? Having another day off due to his pill addiction??

The rest of the country thinks of Dallas before they do Ft. Worth. Makes sense doing it that way on a national show.

You wouldn't say St. Paul/Minneapolis or St. Pete/Tampa on a national show.

Right. Since it wasn't a legal ID, the order that "sounds" better to the rest of the company is just smart advertising.

Also, I doubt they care how many times the guest host mentions his home station.

Speaking of that, is KRLD licensed to Dallas or Fort Worth? I have always thought of it as a Dallas station, but I have recently seen two mentions to the fact that it is a Fort Worth station. Anyone know for sure?

Search Radio-Locator for ZIP Code 75261 (DFW Airport which is
pretty much in the center) and it will bring up a list of 67 stations
"within close listening range" that includes the COLs:

http://www.radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/locate?select=city&city=75261&sid=&x=16&y=9

There actually are a couple stations with a dual COL, but not
KRLD (DAL) or WBAP (FTW).

BTW, what does 96.7 say in their legal--"KPMZ Flower Mound/
Dallas/Fort Worth"?

I think so...

KISS says Denton/Dallas/Fort Worth and KDL used to ID as Muenster/Dallas/Fort Worth...

I am Fort Worth's biggest fan but it only makes sense to ID yourself as Dallas/Fort Worth on a national show. Everyone knows the metro area as D/FW not FW/D. We should just change the whole area to one big city and call it Dalworth. :D

Dalworth? You left out the quarter million people who live smack dab in teh middle of DFW. You've got to throw some love to Arlington. Dalworth-ington.

And maybe add something to make it sound more appealing? A garden maybe...

Let's just call the whole area Dalworthington Gardens... :D
