Subliminal spots

These spots are mostly from FOX. I heard one the other day to tune into FOX for a certain show on B101 and then again today on WSRS.
They are about 5 seconds long and droped in between songs or in a spot set.
Anyone else hear these very short spots that catch you off guard?
Not sure if its a Clear Channel only thing but I like the way this is done.

It a CC company wide initiative, which Fox invested in.

I had read about these two-second ads. I'm sure thats what you heard. Here is a link I found upon "Googling".

http://www.signonsandiego.com/uniontrib/20060822/news_1b22ads.htmlIt's from a San Diego Paper, but at least you don't need to subscribe to read it.

On a side note, those are hardly subliminal spots...but did you know that one of the two Subliminal advertising agencies in the counrty is located in Cranston? Or at least that's what one of my profs at UConn told me a while back.

True subliminal spots would contain something hidden that would work on your subconscious & the FCC banned them from radio & TV in the 70s. If they work at all, they would work better visually. For a radio spot to be subliminal there would have to be an inaudible message that your subconscious would supposedly detect prompting you to do something like your subconscious picking up "vote for Laffey" when you're really hearing "we want to sell you a cah".

Visually on TV it would be something like the pepperoni slices on a piece of pizza arranged to look like Paris Hilton's face to get your subconscious to believe eating Domino's will make you blonde & rich.

I'm Runrigger & I approve this message.

Yes, but you won't find their offices, as they are discreetly hidden within the confines of Garden City. However, don't be surprised if you walk away from William and Sonoma with the urge to send hidden messages.

OK OK - that last part may not have been true, but I am quite interested in this concept. Does anyone know what this agency is called?

Runnrigger, I could not come up with the proper term. Thank you. I find it interesting though it is supposibly "Against the laaw to use "sub messages on the radio. To be honest I never heard of that before. What about my old records that have them when you spin them backwards.
