Subscription Rates

Is it true that sirius/XM will raise their monthly rates on Mar 10, unless you take a long term subscription?
Also are they going to charge to listen online if you don't subcribe longer term?
If they do this I'm gone.

Yes, you have to pay up front for at least a year, up to five years in advance by March 10th for that second to fifth radio to be locked in at the $6.99 per month rate.

OK, so then is it correct for me to assume this doesn't affect being able to listen online if you already have a monthly subscription?

No, if you don't lock in to a long term or lifetime contract by March 10, you will have to pay an extra $2.99/month online listening fee.

We'll see the day after tomorrow. I have a paid for contract thru October. That deal better not be messed with...

I can't believe that anyone would sign up for a lifetime subscription to a service that may not be around in 3 or 6 months.
Is sirius/xm eligible for tarp money?

Well, I can tell you I called up to cancel one of my two radios, and I was offered a much more palatable deal. It gets me out of the price increase and then some for at least a few months.

I wouldn't be surprised if they're not around in less than a year.

I wouldn't mind paying extra if their product was better. A new radio that has to have
three wires sticking out of it??! They can't touch each other!?! Really?!?!? I would
love to see Sirius go under.

That's why I can't believe they're offering lifetime subscriptions. Who's lifetime, a mosquitos?

Sirius isn't going anywhere. Even if they were to declare bankruptcy, they would continue on. The idea that they will go dark is silly.
