Subtle Change On Current TV

L

Just before "Countdown" Monday night on Current TV, the announcer IDed the channel as "the NEW Current TV". Does this mean there are future changes afoot, like, oh I don't know, a show with Cenk Uygur, or Thom HartmannThom Hartmann? Each does a TV show on the internets that perhaps could be ported to Current.

They've been using that promo since Keith started on Current TV. I do hope that Cenk joins Current TV; that's be a stellar lineup, and maybe Rachel Maddow can join up when her contract ends at msnbc.

Then what happens to Free Speech TV?

Both of the viewers schedule a protest. OK, I will admit to catching up with Andy and Ann on GayUSA every couple weeks, but I gave up on the David Pakman Show after a handful of viewings. A weeklong tape-delay radio broadcast on Current Events is hardly worth watching.

I miss The Hippy Gourmet. -sigh-

I have absolutely no idea how long Current TV is actually going to stay on the air.

They lately have "bigger advertisers" but there is going to be some point when the gas fumes which the channel is running on is going to run out. Olbermann is getting so predictable what his viewpoint is going to be that it is not going translate into getting better numbers.

Current TV is really not seen in that many homes and at some point the advertisers -- no matter how big they are -- will want to see RESULTS from their advertising and not just see it as a contribution to the largesse of Al Gore.
